Now a Millionaire!

Logging on my blog after a tough few weeks, I discover that it has surpassed the one million mark! 😺

Love and mercy triumph over obstacles, and I am lucky to feel that love from the 1 million+ views from readers and friends like you.  Wow!  I can hardly believe it, but a small dream of mine has now come true: hitting the million mark and still going!  When I first started this little caption blog, oh gosh, it was my sister Marti who encouraged me to try to create a special place to share and to keep going even though I was rather frightened and too shy for words.  Marti, you were right when you made me promise not to give up. ^^  And now, thanks to all of you readers from countries around the globe, I feel like a millionaire!  ^_^

I am blessed to have you---my friends, sisters, and readers---and to be able to appreciate all the support and positive comments and bits of light from you that have kept me going, here and there and everywhere.  If I could hug you all, I would.  May you all take care and be healthy, wealthy, and wise during these unusual times.

Stay well, stay kinky. 💖

Love,

Life chat - Heavy rain

Life chat: Heavy rain

Dear readers, fans, sisters and brothers, and friends,

I do not usually make this type of post, but I feel that I should help clear the air a bit with some personal commentary on the general situation which seems to be gripping the world and affecting most of our lives in ways that we have to adjust to, even if we don't like it.  It seems that all the news is bad (but maybe that is the media reporting all bad news out of sensationalism, even though some good things might still be happening in the world).

The United States of America is my home country; I have traveled and lived in over a dozen countries in the world, and I've visited almost every U.S. state during my short time on this earth.  I've seen evil, and I have seen good, and much in between where much was unclear.  I have seen revolutions, wars, coups, race riots, and assassinations---along with oil fires, evacuations, corruption, thievery, and personal assault.  But never have I witnessed the kind of thing that seems to be happening now: the U.S. falling apart in gridlock, fear, politicking, anger, finger-pointing, incompetence, and inaction; and seemingly every major country except China having the world turned upside-down.  My mind balks; I still find it hard to believe that both my country and our world is becoming a place of hatred, panic, and intolerance, filled with anger and fear and a smug chauvinism that insists that all problems are the fault of someone else.

Hate crimes against Asians are increasing in the U.S. and around the world---you can see it in the news.  Asians are being blamed for the COVID-19 pandemic.  And Black, Latino, and other minority communities in America are not getting the health care they need; they are also blamed for being sick.

That kind of thinking is wrong.  It is absolutely wrong.  We are all connected, and we must strive to be humane and compassionate human beings who try to help those who suffer.  We must not point fingers; we must not blame others; we must look inside ourselves.  We are suffering as a society, with some privations, yes, but America has been and always will be a symbol of what is possible, not only what we are at present.  Please, America, do not turn your back on the world at the very moment that it needs you to take the burden of leadership.  Do not leave the world in confusion and darkness.

To abjure this privilege and responsibility is the action of a coward who likes when he is winning and complains when he is losing.  That is not acceptable, nor is it advisable.  We are speaking of human lives here.  Please do not put politics before people.  I beg you to put money in the hands of the American people (not irresponsibly of course, to benefit only those corrupt banks who wield only blackmail power over the American economy), but rather the small banks and businesses who will spend again when given the chance to keep America alive.  Not "great again"---but alive and kicking, so President Trump of America claims despite all indications that he has ignored, mocked, and dismissed and derided the current crisis that is upon us all, without preparing an inch or a foot or even more than a tweet.  What world leader would do this?

May all be well.  I love you all, but I just went for a simple grocery & alcohol run with full mask on and a spatial quarantine allowed only inside the store that meant I could only holler out names of labels I had purchased in the past, with all indications (despite my lack of illness) that I hollered at them to "bring them out to me," like I was a victim of the disease, like I was someone infected and thus worthy of less moral claims to humanity.  It's so hard to believe, but it's like the new normal.

That is not okay.  It is not even alright.  We must act, must hold on to some decency.  We have to take not only probable but also possible the idea that we can revolutionize the democratic American political system, which is broken by the Electoral College and other barriers.  Take action and vote for yourselves, and express yourselves (online and otherwise), conscientiously and without restraint.  We must be parts of the change for a new American democracy that treats the third part of the Declaration of Independence, "the pursuit of happiness," as one and the same as the other rights of human beings in America.

You might not care much about my fate as an individual human being.  But to read news about Asian people being attacked in subways, assaulted in grocery stores, and vilified for just being Asians who "caused" the disease, that must be too much.  Even the American president has called this whole thing a "Chinese virus," and placed the blame on people who look like me.  No matter our race, we are in this together as we struggle to make laughter and life and joy (and above all, survive).  As a Chinese-American, myself, I can feel it if you have neither sympathy nor empathy for my being "Other."  In fact, I am not "Other" at all, because I am as American as any other individual in my country, and I was born here and raised here.  I might be treated differently by people because of my appearance as an Asian, and I hope that fact will not continue to happen to me or my children.  But human nature shows its ugly side throughout history, especially when people are scared or frustrated, or both.  Anyone could ask themselves: would you beat a Chinese-American or an Asian-American to death because of anger over job loss?  This is real but overlooked.  Would race or religion matter much more to you if you were in a spasm of rage?

Maybe any of us could see a hate crime and yet look away.  Would you just stand by and watch if someone were insulting or beating up an Asian person?  What if you knew she or he were caring for a sick relative or had a family waiting for her or him to bring back groceries at the end of a hard working day?  Is there any excuse for a failure of compassion?

I think in this crisis, more vitally than ever, we each must help anybody in need.  We are humans who share our fates.  We must not let a virus or its bad economic effects defeat our sense of decency and compassion, no matter how bad it may seem.  It must not define who we are.  We are better than this.

I feel that a heavy rain is upon us, one that an umbrella can't keep away.  Be well, stay well, and stay safe.  I shall be in contact later, and hopefully very soon.  If I cannot, then keep an umbrella open to catch the rain, like the girl in the picture, and know that each raindrop is a tear from Heaven. :o

Check out her TG caption blog and her interactive genie story, which is here: https://jessetgcaps.blogspot.com/2020/03/genie-interactive-story.html

I think you might find a nice surprise at the end. ^_^

Girl of the Week: Rinrada Yoshi Thurapan

This is the 5th part of my series about real world T-girls and Cosplayers, who are inspirations to us all!

Rinrada Thurapan, better known as Yoshi Rinrada, is a transgender woman from Thailand.  She was born in the male sex but always identified herself as a female while growing up.  Yoshi yearned to be a female since she was 15 years old, especially when she grew up surrounded by girls.  Yoshi studied communication arts at Bangkok University and gained notice in Thai films and television comedies.  But her earliest fame came from her work as a female model while she was still a teenager, which made her face recognized throughout Thailand from when she was 18 years old.

In 2017, Yoshi was crowned Miss Tiffany Universe.  In 2015, she had had gender confirmation surgery.  After winning Miss Tiffany Universe, she was able to represent Thailand in the Miss International Queen pageant the next year, where she finished as second runner-up.  The person she admires most, her idol in many ways, is Treechada “Poyd” Petcharat (featured in Part 4 of this series), who won Miss Tiffany and Miss International Queen in 2004. Yoshi feels fortunate that she and other transgender women have people such as Poyd as role models and as voices of wisdom.

“Continue to be a good person,” Yoshi insists, “and eventually the special things in you will shine out for the world to see and accept you for who you are.”  She is a beauty and an inspiration for others.

And here she speaks in her own words. 💗

Lovely!  May you have continued success, Yoshi! ^.^

Girl of the Week: Treechada Poyd Petcharat

This is the 4th part of my series about real world T-girls and Cosplayers, who are inspirations to us all!

"Poy" needs but little introduction, since she's a star in her own right.  But just a little background, for those who don't know her: Treechada Poyd Petcharat is a Thai actress and model who underwent gender affirming surgery at age 17.  As a child, Poyd realized that she was not a male but rather a transgender woman, and she braved this reality for many years despite the disapproval of her parents until she could get surgery to make her into the woman that she was inside.

At age 19, Poyd won the Miss Tiffany's 2004 and Miss International Queen 2004 in Thailand.  She has also become an actress in several Thai films.

Girl of the Week: Jiratchaya Mo Sirimongkolnawin

This is the 3rd part of my series about real world T-girls and Cosplayers, who are inspirations to us all!

Mo is not only beautiful; she is also full of grace.  She won the Miss Tiffany’s Universe (a Pattaya beauty contest) and also won Miss International Queen (the international beauty pageant for transgender women).  Before receiving her title, Mo became famous for her brief appearance on the Thai singing show I Can See Your Voice, where she surprised and delighted the audience by singing with a masculine voice.  In her spare time, Mo loves to play sports.

Mo also offers some words of support and encouragement for transgender women.  Here is her brief video message:

Girl of the Week 2: Woranun “Frame” Nalatworasakul

This is the 2nd part of my brief introductory series about real world T-girls and Cosplayers, who are inspirations to us all.
Woranun “Frame” Nalatworasakul, at age 22, a communications arts major, made waves on Thai social media when she attended the military draft just like her compatriot Monthana "Jeen" Chuthatus (previously featured).  Her cuteness and fetching appearance exempted her from (at least the worst parts of) military service and landed her interviews on Thai television.  Frame produced a series of short films called “Crazy Love.”
Way to go, Frame! ^ ^

Girl of the Week 1: Jeen

I want to start featuring some of my favorite real world T-girls and Cosplayers.
Hopefully this will become a weekly or bi-weekly thing.

Monthana “Jeen” Chuthatus, at age 20, made news headlines in the Thai media a couple of years ago after reporting for duty at the mandatory-for-men military draft in Thailand’s Chachoengsao province.  Apparently, she wasn't exactly what the army officers were expecting in a prospective soldier.  (Would you turn her down, though? ;)

Jeen gained instant fame after many people, starting with the soldier-recruits themselves, took photos of her and posted them online to show off their new sister-in-arms.

She is beautiful!  Way to go, Jeen!

Angel's Rising (my friend's blog)

Many of you may know that I have a dear friend named Angel.  That's my mental image of her in the photo above: pensive, but also imbued with hidden humor and joy, as an angel should be.  She's not only my adoptive sister, she's also a highly creative person with a big heart and a shy persona to boot.  Here, I want to give a shout-out to her blog site, where she posts her creations.  We're gonna have to work on boosting Angel's confidence in the months to come as she develops her repertoire, but I am sure that she will manage to bring a smile to your face, just as she has done for me. :)

Please have a look at her caption blog!  http://angels210.blogspot.com/

Spring Dawning (+ 200k views!)

Spring is just around the corner!  I don't know about you, but just thinking about the sun and flowers and singing birds makes me feel warm and guzzly inside.  It's been a long winter.  It's high time for some spring spirit!

So get ready to put away the furs, wool stockings, heavy coats & mittens.  Crack open your closets and start matching your spring dresses with your favorite heels & hairbands!  (Okay, well...the cold temperature is still a little nippy, so it won't be all camisoles and parasols just yet, but a girl can dream, right? :)

I hope that this blog site's new theme will help splash sunshine and blossoms your way. 🌻

Last but not least, I'd like to thank all of you for elevating this site to over 200,000 views!  Your support (despite my relative absence recently) helps give me courage to come back.  I hope that we'll smile together again soon. ^^ 💗

The new OTGC

Dear readers & friends,

It was a sad day when OTGC died, and many of you have felt that sense of loss.  The original OTGC site was the creation of Emily Thompson, and it was a haven of creative energy: it gave many captioners a chance to create without pressure and a space to feel welcome and safe.  More personally, it was the place where I and Marti and Rachel and Amelie first met and grew wings to fly.  It was a place for us to laugh together.

It has been months since I have been able to even view the site, and there is no sign of it going back online.  That is sad, because that means many aspiring creators will not have a haven---it has left a big black hole in the TG community.  Let's all first recognize what Emily and OTGC did for us, to thank her for the good things that she achieved.

My little sister Rachel and friend Yasmina have bravely conspired to create a new blog space for creators.  It is a tribute to the former OTGC.  I hope that you'll join us in making a new haven and a creative home.  Here's the link:

(Or, do you see the nifty little OTGC icon in the upper-right corner?  You can click that! :)

Keep on rocking, folks.  Nobody can stop you from dancing, if you wanna dance.  \^o^/

I am alive

My dear friends and readers,

I've been away a long time, and some of you have worried about me, my friends especially.  The truth is, my life has been a kind of Hell for the past few weeks.  It has taken a grave toll on my health and my mind.  That was never my intention, nor was it just an accident.  I have done wrongs, and I have had wrongs done to me.  Karma is the balance.  Right now, I can honestly say that I'm barely holding on.  But even if I'm holding on only by my fingernails, my fingernails are long enough. 😇

I will come back.  I must struggle against the obstacles against me and return to being the Karen that you know, with wings to fly and wind to soar.

Please don't lose faith.  I am alive. 👰

With affection,   - K

Rachel's fantasies (new blog!)

Dear readers,

*Breaking News*

My friend & lil' sister Rachel has just started a new blog site, her first very own tg/tf caption blog!  Yay!

If you've been to OTGC, you might be familiar with her work: she is @justafetish there, ya? 😄

Check out Rachel's site (linked below, and also under the "Some of My Inspirations" blogroll).  She has her own style, which is quite a bit more racy than mine (heee), as you will see for yourself!

* Warning: may contain adult material *

I am here ;)

Friends, Romans, countrymen, lend me your ears...

*heee* Just kidding! (nerdy geeky Shakespeare reference)

*ahem* My dear friends & readers,

As many of you know, I was knocked out of action earlier this week, but I am now recovering.  I may be coming home soon.

A heartfelt Thank You for all your well-wishes and support during this time.  Your cheers and positive energy help make the hurts better (like kisses on a Band-Aid).

I wanna smile and laugh together with you (rire et faire rire) again.  I'll be back.  Until then, you all be good, ja? ;)

Great Film! - YOUR NAME (Kimi no Na wa) - 君の名は

I've just had the pleasure of watching a new TG Anime film: Your Name (Kimi no Na wa 君の名は), by Makoto Shinkai (2016).  It's a story about a high school girl in rural Japan and a high school boy in Tokyo who swap bodies.  I highly recommend it to you!  It is funny and beautifully animated---and it's TG! ;)

I have been a fan of Makoto Shinkai's work since his very first film Voices of a Distant Star (Hoshi No Koe ほしのこえ), which was not TG.  Your Name is very nice, and it happens to feature a TG love story and also one of my favorite themes, the Japanese legend: Red String of Fate!  Two people who are connected in this way are bound together by Fate itself.  A dream...a shared destiny....

The film is lovely, and it's cute; it also did very well at the box office and is internationally acclaimed, which is wonderful.  I hope that we will see more of these kinds of creations in the future.

Some photos and the link to the movie trailer to whet your appetite (and I hope that you will watch this film!).  Lemme know what ya think if you watch the film. ;)

Winter is coming

Winter is coming.

...and before you ask, no, no, I am not a "Game of Thrones" TV series fangirl!  I read the original books, short stories, and novels long time ago, back before the author (George R. R. Martin) lost his marbles and apparently decided that he could not finish the novels without killing all the characters, and I have never watched the TV series spawned by the GoT series....

But Winter is here (at least in the Northern Hemisphere).  I just hope that everyone will manage to stay warm and safe, no matter what country they are from!  Especially those on the East Coast of the United States, where a huge snowstorm is about to hit.  Stay alive and safe, please.  We are all connected; I truly believe that, and we must all try to live.  Where there is Life, there is Hope.  And where there is Hope, there are Dreams. ;)

... And as always, my best wishes to all of you, from every country or city, near or far!  Let me know if you are liking this blog site, which I write for you and me to dream together.  I hope that my "little flashes" help to fulfill your wild fantasies!

Resuscitation

Hi again! Those of you who know me from Open TG (OTGC) would know that I was once active as @karen on that site.  That was my cradle, where I first got started as a captioner.  I thank Emily Thompson for creating that website, which was my haven before the connection problems and before I got courage to start my own caption blog .

I still try to visit OTGC sometimes, but I get the dreaded message: The connection has timed out.  Oh, no...*sniffles* ... I feel so sad!

So now,  I still cannot log in there to view my previous works, my stories, see my own captions.  *cries*  If anyone could help preserve / archive my old works from OTGC, I'd appreciate it.  I can't remember everything that I wrote there---but for what it's worth, I will try to resuscitate some of those early cap stories.  For love, and for old times' sake.  And to share them with you, my new readers.  My memory is bad, but I'll try to recall and piece some together.  Future posts may include some.  Oh: many of them may not be Asian-themed, but that's just how OTGC was.  I felt then as I feel now: that there's not enough Asian tg/tf on the web, and there's room for much more!  Still...my mind flashes in many directions.

So don't worry, there's good stuff to come!  A few older works, revived & dusted off...but embellished by my current self, rewritten with a lil' more class (they won't be quite the same)

I hope you enjoy them, heee. ;)
