Winter is coming

Winter is coming.

...and before you ask, no, no, I am not a "Game of Thrones" TV series fangirl!  I read the original books, short stories, and novels long time ago, back before the author (George R. R. Martin) lost his marbles and apparently decided that he could not finish the novels without killing all the characters, and I have never watched the TV series spawned by the GoT series....

But Winter is here (at least in the Northern Hemisphere).  I just hope that everyone will manage to stay warm and safe, no matter what country they are from!  Especially those on the East Coast of the United States, where a huge snowstorm is about to hit.  Stay alive and safe, please.  We are all connected; I truly believe that, and we must all try to live.  Where there is Life, there is Hope.  And where there is Hope, there are Dreams. ;)

  1. In response to your comment over on Marti's Blog:

I've actually recently found your blog thru Marti's blog list and do remember seeing the name Karen on OTGC. So far I have enjoyed your content and don't have any issues with your layout, But I am no professional.

I'll try and comment on occasion however I do tend to be a lurker and often forget creators like feed back/ don't know have enough to say. I'll try and post though, especially if I find a Caption particularly interesting.

The one thing that makes it easier to get a quick glimpse on feed back from viewers with out them having to type a response is the reaction widget... I think thats what it's called... I don't know what its called exactly, I've never tried to create a blog. Marti has them under her images if you don't know what I'm talking about. It lets a viewer give feedback anonymously with out having to type a comment select the anonymous selection and go through the captcha puzzles.

Just a thought. I look forward to seeing what you will create.

    1. Dear Cal,

Thank you so much for your comments, which are quite thoughtful and much appreciated. ;) I have given some deal of thought about that little "widget" that you have mentioned. The one for anonymous reactions, which I have seen on Marti's blog as well as others...but I personally feel hesitant about implementing it, for I feel that it kind of "cheapens" the site; however, from a viewer's point of reference, it must be a comfort. I will enable it to see what happens, but I can't promise that it will always be there, okay? However...I will be here, that I promise. Thank you again for constructively commenting, which is so rare and _is_ valued by all creators. ^^ <3 karen

    2. I understand about the widget, and if you feel it cheapens the site, get rid of it. the site should fit your idea in this kind of setting, you are the web artist here.
Also if you are worried about a feature, a controversial post, or just want to see what your viewers want, ask your viewers for direct feedback. Lurkers often will post if asked directly. ~cal

    3. I will keep the widget active awhile...as an experiment per se. However, I do understand what you have said, and I hope (really hope!) that the lurkers out there will not keep lurking, but rather create, comment, post, whatever! I trust that you will do it also, my friend. ;) <3 karen

    4. Not one single person has clicked on the widget! Even though I have activated it specially because you requested it and...*sigh* I suppose that nobody will click it. Maybe my posts are just not that interesting or worthy of comment. Yet for scientific experimental reasons, I will let it remain. Thank you again for commenting, Cal Narri, you have no idea how much it means to me. ;) <3 karen
